Who publishes it
Listed Since is published by CDQC Holdings, a North Carolina company. It is a small operation, and that shows up in honest places on this site: we re-read dealers on a rolling schedule rather than all at once, and we do not promise a turnaround time on anything.
Why it exists
A buyer standing in a showroom cannot see the two things that would tell them most: how long that machine has been on the dealer’s own website, and what other dealers are asking for the same one. Dealers publish both, in public, every day. Nobody keeps the record.
So we keep it. We read what is published, note the date, and keep looking. The point is not to catch anyone out. It is that a machine listed for a long time and a machine listed last week look identical in a showroom, and one of those facts is worth knowing before you talk about money.
How it works
We request the public inventory pages a dealer publishes on their own website — the same pages anyone can open in a browser — and read the text that comes back. From that text we count plain things: how long a listing has been up according to the date the dealer published, whether the asking price differed between two of our own reads, whether the listing carried a VIN or a stock number, and whether the page contained particular words about charges. We record the date of every read.
We use no dealer management software, no private feeds, and nothing a dealer sends us. We have not inspected any vehicle and we have never seen anybody’s records. How we measure sets out each check in full, including what each one cannot tell you.
The site covers powersports dealers in every state. How many that is today, and how many model comparisons it supports, is shown on the front page and on the model index rather than written into this paragraph, because both numbers move.
What this site deliberately does not do
- No ratings, scores or grades. There is no league table, no star, no letter and no ranking of dealers against each other. A count with a date beside it is the whole product.
- No photographs. We publish no images from any dealer listing. Where you want to see the machine, we link out to the dealer’s own page, which is the right place to look anyway.
- No money from dealers. Not for placement, not for removal, not for a reply, not for a faster correction. There is no tier and no queue, and there is nothing on this site for a dealer to buy. How we are paid says who does pay us.
- No private information. Everything published here came off a public page. If a figure could only be confirmed from a dealer’s internal records, it is not on this site.
- No selling. We are not a dealer, a broker or a marketplace. Nothing here can be bought, reserved or financed, and we are not part of any transaction you make.
The limits, stated plainly
Our reader can misread a page. Dealer websites change their layout, and a change can make a count wrong until we notice it. A dealer can update a page the day after we look, and our figure will be stale until the next read. Some dealer platforms publish no listing date at all, and for those we show no figure rather than a small one.
This is why the date sits beside every figure instead of once in a footer. A number here is a claim about what one page said on one day, and it is checkable: open the dealer’s page and look. If what you see does not match what we printed, that is worth telling us about.
